New Taipei Tucheng Car Repair Shop Fire: 3 Rescued, Sent to Hospital for Observation

(Central News Agency reporter Wang Hong-guo, New Taipei, 5th) A car repair shop on Asia Road, Tucheng District, New Taipei City, caught fire around 5 PM, emitting smoke. Firefighters were dispatched quickly to extinguish the blaze. Three people were rescued from the scene and sent to the hospital for precautionary observation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Firefighters received a report today at 5:47 PM that a car repair shop on the first floor of a two-story townhouse on Asia Road in Tucheng District suddenly caught fire, with thick smoke billowing from the scene. The fire department dispatched 20 vehicles and 43 personnel for rescue operations.

Firefighters stated that the third floor of the townhouse was an illegal rooftop extension. After firefighters deployed water lines to extinguish the fire, it was brought under control at 6:06 PM. Firefighters also rescued two people from the second floor and one person from the third floor.
