(Reporter Jiang Yi-Ching, Yunlin County 5th) Yunlin County's Taisi Police Precinct received a report early this morning around 7 AM that there was a suspicious vehicle at the intersection of Taiwan Provincial Highway 17 and Zhongshan Road in Mailiao Township. Police went to investigate according to law, but the vehicle refused inspection and rammed police officers, attempting to escape. Police fired 7 shots to stop it.

Police stated that they received a public report around 7 AM this morning that a suspicious vehicle was found at the intersection of Taiwan Provincial Highway 17 and Zhongshan Road in Mailiao Township. Due to suspicion of dangerous items inside the vehicle, officers approached to investigate according to law, but the driver refused to cooperate and intended to ram the officers with the car.

Police explained that to prevent further harm, officers first fired warning shots into the air according to regulations. However, the vehicle still did not stop and refused inspection. Police then shot at the vehicle's tires to prevent its escape.

Police fired 7 shots, causing the suspicious vehicle's tires to burst, but the driver still accelerated and fled. The car was later abandoned on the roadside, and the occupants transferred to another vehicle to leave the scene.

Police obtained information on the getaway vehicle and arrested 2 suspects within an hour of the incident, seizing 4 modified firearms and other related evidence.
