(Central News Agency reporter Cheng Ai-fen, Vancouver, 4th) Canada's Tian Jin Tang's annual TJ Fest temple fair successfully concluded yesterday. This year marked the 15th edition, and its scale was exceptionally grand, with the Mayor of Burnaby personally taking the stage to sing, and the rare simultaneous presence of Dajia Mazu and Guan Sheng Dijun at Tian Jin Tang.

Two masters from Taiwan, Yu Jia-lu and Chen Ming-na, established Tian Jin Tang in Burnaby, British Columbia (City of Burnaby) in 2012. It is Canada's first Guandi Temple, advocating the spirit of loyalty, filial piety, integrity, and righteousness of Guan Sheng Dijun, promoting traditional Taoist cultural characteristics, and actively engaging in social welfare with humanitarian care in mind, earning widespread praise locally.

More than a dozen Canadian political dignitaries attended to support the temple fair, highly praising Tian Jin Tang as a cornerstone of the community, connecting various forces to stabilize people's hearts and provide warmth.

Wade Chang, a Member of Parliament from the ruling Liberal Party, brought greetings from Prime Minister Mark Carney and expressed excitement about Dajia Mazu's巡遊 in Canada participating in the temple fair and staying at Tian Jin Tang. He said: "Guan Di and Mazu demonstrate the dual-saint belief and cultural heritage, allowing different ethnic groups overseas to feel the meaning and value of Chinese culture."

Raj Chouhan, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, and three provincial legislators Anne Kang, Paul Choi, Janet Routledge, as well as Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley, highly praised Tian Jin Tang's Interfaith platform for connecting various religious organizations to do public good together.

Hurley also generously performed on stage, expressing gratitude through action for Tian Jin Tang's long-standing leadership of hundreds of volunteers serving the community. Hurley, who played in a band when he was young, partnered with renowned Canadian rock musician Joe Keithley to perform three songs on stage.

The first temple fair was held in the parking lot in front of Tian Jin Tang. Over time, its scale grew larger and larger. Now, the entire street block from the temple to a nearby park is closed off to celebrate the two-day grand temple fair, where over 10,000 people come to feast on Taiwanese snacks, enjoy wonderful music, and immerse themselves in the rich cultural atmosphere.

Yu Jia-lu told the Central News Agency that in today's society full of variables and uncertainties, Tian Jin Tang's unwavering belief is even more important. It has always upheld the principle of "help when able, save when able, enlighten when able" in long-term charitable acts, and is also pleased that many kind-hearted individuals and organizations have actively joined and jointly given back to society.

He cited an example: "Tian Jin Tang has a 'Community Refrigerator' at its entrance, specifically providing various foods to those in need. It started with just one refrigerator, but the loving resources have been continuous, and now at least 100 kilograms are distributed daily."

Gao Quan-sheng, a volunteer at Tian Jin Tang for many years, told the Central News Agency: "This is a place where love gathers." He said that many touching stories happen every day. For example, a student with autism, who was once so severe that he dropped out of school, gradually gained confidence by practicing drum arrays at Tian Jin Tang. After his physical and mental recovery, he returned to school to complete his studies.

Liu Li-hsin, Director-General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vancouver, was encouraged by Tian Jin Tang's absorption of many young new forces. "Many Taiwanese-Canadian children are contributing to the community, cherishing and utilizing their identity and value to benefit Canada, further allowing the outside world to affirm the beauty of Taiwan."
