The DPP Chiayi County Party Headquarters today issued a press release stating that with only half a year left until the 2026 local elections, the county party headquarters completed its internal primary poll for the county magistrate early this year, with Legislator Tsai Yi-yu winning to run for the next county magistrate. Today, County Party Headquarters Chairman Hsu Ming-hsun further announced the first wave of township/city mayor nomination list.
Hsu Ming-hsun stated that the nomination list includes three new faces: Lu Huiyu, Deputy Director of Legislator Tsai Yi-yu's service office, running for Taibao City; Weng Yun, Executive Director of Legislator Tsai Yi-yu's service office, running for Yizhu Township; and Wu Furen, Chief Secretary of Meishan Township Office, contesting for Meishan Township Mayor.
In addition, Chen Congyi, a township representative with strong grassroots support, will run for Minxiong Township, and Wang Rujing, who previously served as Puzi City Mayor and has a good image, will return to run for Puzi City.
