(Central News Agency reporter Tseng Jen-kai, Taipei, 5th) Chicony Power today announced its first-quarter financial report. Revenue was NT$7.784 billion, a 0.8% decrease quarter-on-quarter but a 7.8% decrease year-on-year. After-tax net profit was NT$404 million, a 14.2% decrease quarter-on-quarter but a 0.3% increase year-on-year. Earnings per share for the single quarter were NT$1.01. Chicony Power is optimistic that with the continued pull-in trend in the notebook PC market and increasing demand for communication power supplies, Q2 revenue is expected to be better than Q1.

Chicony Power stated that in Q1, benefiting from server power supplies, high-wattage notebook PC power supplies, and low-earth orbit satellite demand, Q1 revenue was approximately flat with Q4 last year, achieving its set target. Compared to the same period in 2025, at that time, due to concerns about increased US tariffs on notebook PCs, brand customers stocked up early, raising the comparison base, resulting in a slight year-on-year decrease in revenue.

Looking ahead, Chicony Power believes that the shortage of key semiconductors at the client end will be difficult to alleviate in the short term, and the overall visibility of the notebook PC market is limited, making demand after June harder to predict.

However, Chicony Power believes that under the pressure of technology inflation, coupled with the demand for gaming notebook PC stocking for China's 618 shopping festival, brand customers in the notebook PC market are relatively aggressive in their pull-in attitude in Q2. Chicony Power will actively seize opportunities for urgent orders, optimize the proportion of high-wattage notebook PC power supply products, and increase the average selling price (ASP).

Regarding costs, Chicony Power stated that metal prices continue to rise, coupled with the impact of the US-Iran conflict, energy and petrochemical product prices are also increasing, making the rise in raw material prices unavoidable. Chicony Power is actively communicating with customers and expects to gradually reflect cost changes in Q2 through reasonable price adjustments to maintain stable operations.
