(Taipei, May 5, CNA reporter Hsieh Ching-wen) In an extra-inning game on May 3 between the Chinese Professional Baseball League's CTBC Brothers and TSG Hawks, the Brothers used three pinch-hitters in a row but failed to score a single run, while the Hawks secured a walk-off win with only five pitches. Manager Hirano Keiichi revealed today that both teams actually had the same strategy, but the outcomes were different.

In the game between the Brothers and the Hawks on May 3, the score was tied 2-2 after nine innings. In the top of the 10th, the Brothers used three consecutive pinch-hitters: Wang Cheng-shun, Chen Chun-hsiu, and Chang Jen-wei, who successively struck out, struck out, and hit a fly ball to second base, failing to score a run.

In the bottom of the 10th, the Hawks first advanced a runner to third base with Chen Wen-Chieh's ground ball to first base, then Tseng Tzu-yu hit a walk-off single. The Hawks successfully executed their strategy to win within five pitches, and the Brothers ultimately lost 2-3.

Brothers' Manager Hirano Keiichi said in an interview before today's game that the Brothers' strategy in the top of the 10th was actually the same as the Hawks' strategy in the bottom of the 10th, hoping that the batter would hit the ball to the right side to advance runners and create scoring opportunities.

Hirano Keiichi mentioned that the result of the May 3 game was that the Hawks succeeded, but the Brothers did not. This result also told the Brothers' players that if they cannot execute such tactics effectively, they cannot win games, and this is a lesson the team needs to change and improve upon.
