(Frankfurt, Central News Agency, May 4, comprehensive foreign report) European stock market major indices closed lower today, as tensions in the Strait of Hormuz pushed up international oil prices, coupled with US President Donald Trump's recent threat to raise tariffs on automobiles from the European Union.
The Frankfurt DAX index fell 301.11 points, or 1.24%, to close at 23991.27 points.
The Paris CAC 40 index dropped 138.72 points, or 1.71%, to close at 7976.12 points.
