Lu Shiow-yen attended the opening ceremony of the Waipu District Parent-Child Center this morning. After the ceremony, she was interviewed about President Lai's visit. Lu Shiow-yen said she wished the President a smooth trip.

President Lai was originally scheduled to visit Eswatini, an ally, on April 22, but Seychelles, Mauritius, and Madagascar suddenly revoked the flight permits for the chartered plane, causing the itinerary to be suspended. Lu Shiow-yen previously told the media that she condemned any interference or pressure; she also hoped that national leaders would have the ability to expand international space, and that being trapped in a predicament was not a solution. She "suggested that President Lai might consult former President Tsai Ing-wen to solve the problem."
