(Central News Agency reporter Hsiao Po-yang, Nantou County, 4th) According to statistics from the Nantou County Caotun Land Administration Office, there are 2,187 plots of land and 72 buildings in Caotun Township that have not undergone inheritance registration. Based on this year's announced land value, the total value of these assets exceeds NT$1.5 billion; the current public announcement period is from April 1 to June 30, and relevant information is posted at land administration offices, district offices, and neighborhood offices throughout Nantou County.

The Nantou County Government's Land Administration Department today issued a message stating that, according to Article 73-1 of the Land Act, if inheritance registration is not processed for more than one year after the inheritance begins, and no one applies after a three-month public announcement, the land administration agency will list and manage it for 15 years. If ownership is still not transferred after the deadline, it will be transferred to the National Property Administration of the Ministry of Finance for public auction. The proceeds from the auction will be kept for 10 years, and if still unclaimed after this deadline, the funds will be confiscated into the national treasury.

The Land Administration Department stated that if there are many family members and it is difficult to reach a consensus, it is recommended that one or more representatives apply for registration as "co-ownership" by all heirs, to avoid being fined for not completing inheritance registration within six months and to prevent the real estate from being put up for auction after the management period expires.

The Land Administration Department stated that if the public needs to understand the application process or required documents, in addition to on-site consultation, they can also check online through the official websites of the Nantou County Land Administration Department and the Caotun Land Administration Office, to ensure that family property is not lost due to negligence.
