(Central News Agency reporter Tsai Meng-yu, Kaohsiung, 4th) In May, the Kaohsiung City Health Bureau, in collaboration with Kaohsiung Metro Co., Ltd. and medical institutions across the city, has planned 25 "Partnering with MRT to Protect Moms" health screening events, offering cervical smears and breast X-ray photography examinations. Participants who complete the examinations can also receive single-trip metro tickets and other gifts.
The Kaohsiung City Health Bureau announced today in a press release that the "Partnering with MRT to Protect Moms" screening events will run from May 1st to May 31st, with 25 sessions planned around MRT and light rail stations for public convenience.
Eligible individuals who complete breast mammography and cervical smear examinations at designated event sessions can receive a single-trip metro ticket and exquisite gifts on-site. First-time participants who complete the examinations will receive an additional single-trip ticket from Kaohsiung Metro Co., Ltd., while supplies last.
Additionally, the Health Bureau has collaborated with 23 medical institutions across the city to launch the "Kaohsiung Accompanying You, Listening to Your Health" women's health project. Women residing or living in Kaohsiung, aged 40 to 64, who are eligible for breast mammography and cervical smears, can make phone appointments with collaborating medical institutions and complete the examinations to receive a "Golden Horse Health" scratch card, with a chance to win prizes like gold ingots and gold bracelets.
To encourage women who have not yet undergone cervical smear or breast mammography screening to participate, the Health Bureau has also planned a first-time screening incentive program. Women aged 30 to 70 who complete cervical smears, and women aged 45 to 70 who complete breast mammography, and also complete online registration, will receive a NT$100 PX Mart gift voucher for each completed item, while supplies last.
The Health Bureau calls for citizens to encourage female family members and friends to participate in health screenings this May, emphasizing that "early detection, early treatment" is key to fighting cancer.
