May Taiwan Stock Index Futures Surge 1689 Points

(Central News Agency, Taipei, May 4th) The Taipei stock market closed today with a gain of 1778.51 points, reaching 40705.14 points. The May Taiwan stock index futures closed at 41031 points, up 1689 points, representing a positive premium of 325.86 points compared to the spot market.

Taiwan Futures Exchange set the opening reference prices for the index futures contracts for the next two months: May futures at 39342 points and June futures at 39418 points.

The Taiwan stock market closed today with a gain of 1778.51 points, at 40705.14 points, with a trading volume of NT$106.887 billion.

The May Taiwan stock index futures closed at 41031 points, up 1689 points, with a trading volume of 62,918 lots; the June futures closed at 41126 points, up 1708 points, with a trading volume of 1,152 lots.
