BERLIN (Central News Agency) — According to a report by Central German Broadcasting (MDR) citing police statements, a car accident occurred in the city center of Leipzig, eastern Germany, today, where a vehicle crashed into a crowd, killing two people and seriously injuring two others.

Leipzig police confirmed to Reuters that an incident involving a vehicle causing injuries had occurred, but could not provide further details.

Radio Leipzig reported that witnesses saw a damaged Volkswagen SUV with a person on its roof speeding through a pedestrian pedestrian zone.
