(Central News Agency reporter Chang Hsiung-feng, Taipei, 3rd) The Central Weather Administration today issued high temperature information for Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, and Taitung, warning of temperatures above 36 degrees Celsius. Meteorologist Wu De-rong stated that a frontal system will arrive in the evening, affecting the area until early morning on the 6th, with localized showers or thunderstorms likely across various regions, and northern Taiwan will turn cooler.

The Central Weather Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications issued high temperature information, noting that due to hot and scorching weather and the influence of southwesterly winds, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, and Taitung County are under a yellow light warning today, advising caution for temperatures above 36 degrees.

Wu De-rong, an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at National Central University, stated in his "Xietianji Classroom" column for the Weather Application Promotion Foundation that the latest European model simulation shows mostly sunny to cloudy skies today, with daytime temperatures as hot as summer, and occasional localized short-term rainfall in mountainous areas in the afternoon.

Wu De-rong pointed out that the first plum rain season front (May, June) will arrive this evening, affecting the area until early morning on the 6th. Localized showers or thunderstorms are expected in areas north of Central Taiwan, and the southern region will also experience localized short-term showers or thunderstorms. Attention should be paid to lightning, strong winds, and instantaneous heavy rainfall; temperatures across all regions will slightly decrease, and northern Taiwan will turn cooler.

Wu De-rong stated that from the morning of the 6th until the 7th, the frontal system will weaken and move away, and the weather across all regions will improve and temperatures will gradually rise, with occasional localized short-term rainfall in mountainous areas and eastern Taiwan in the afternoon. On the 8th, within the warm air mass before another frontal system, skies will be mostly sunny to cloudy, hot as summer, with occasional localized short-term rain in mountainous areas in the afternoon.

Wu De-rong mentioned that the latest European model simulation indicates that on the 9th and 10th, the second plum rain season front will affect the area, causing weather changes; on the 11th and 12th, the frontal system will weaken and move away, and the weather across all regions will improve. As the long-term simulations of various international models are not consistent and will continue to adjust, further observation is necessary. (Edited by Kuan Chung-wei) 1150503
