(Taipei, May 3, CNA reporter Chen Chieh-Ling) Premier Cho Jung-Tai mentioned supplementing nursing talent through examination adjustments. Minister of Health and Welfare Shih Chung-Liang stated today that the Ministry has indeed received feedback from the nursing community that examination questions are sometimes too difficult and obscure. A comprehensive review will be conducted to optimize the national examination questions and implement the integration of education, examination, and practical application.

Yesterday, Premier Cho Jung-Tai attended the Nightingale Award ceremony and mentioned that the government continues to refine policies in four aspects, including, first, diversifying the recruitment of nursing personnel by increasing the frequency of nursing examinations and improving the structure, quality, and content of examination questions to avoid overly specialized or difficult questions, thereby increasing the passing rate of nursing examinations. He added, "even past papers are fine."

Shih Chung-Liang attended the annual meeting of the Taiwanese Dermatological Association this morning and was interviewed by the media before the meeting, where he was asked about adjusting the difficulty of nursing examination questions. He said that medical and health professionals' specialized occupational and technical personnel have always upheld the principle of "education, examination, and employment," hoping that what is learned in school and tested in examinations aligns with the frontline capabilities required for future clinical practice.

Shih Chung-Liang said that he hopes to strengthen training from the education end by understanding the needs for clinical nursing personnel, thereby integrating education, examination, and practical application. Since medical professionals must possess national licenses, examinations are inevitable, and indeed, there are voices from the public that nursing examination questions are sometimes too difficult and obscure, or even excessively challenging.

Shih Chung-Liang mentioned that from the perspective of the overall examination passing rate, some subjects indeed have a low passing rate, which is why a comprehensive review will be conducted. He hopes that through examination question optimization, questions will be designed based on core competencies, avoiding overly difficult or obscure questions, to prevent students from having difficulty smoothly entering the workplace after graduation.

In addition, KMT Legislator Chen Ching-Hui recently posted on Facebook questioning the delay of the Health Coin initiative, asking what the Ministry of Health and Welfare had done in the past four months. Shih Chung-Liang responded that everything is proceeding according to the established plan, including the completion of relevant apps on the NHI side; as for the redemption side, which is the National Health Agency's "Health Go" app, it is also nearing the final stage and currently undergoing system testing.

Regarding when the Health Coin will be officially launched, Shih Chung-Liang stated that everyone is looking forward to the Health Coin, and he is grateful for the public's concern about its progress. A decision will be made after discussions across various ministries. As for whether there is a chance to launch in the first half of the year, "currently, we do not rule out any possibility."
