One vehicle overturned due to the impact. The Taichung City Fire Bureau stated that two people inside the vehicle sustained abrasions and contusions to their limbs and were sent to the hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident is being investigated by the National Highway Police.

The Taichung City Fire Bureau received a report at 11:33 AM about a four-vehicle collision at the 12.9 km mark of National Highway 4 westbound (Taichung Houfeng section), with one vehicle overturned. Personnel and vehicles were immediately dispatched for rescue.

The Fire Bureau explained that upon arrival, both the driver and passenger of the overturned vehicle had already exited. Both sustained abrasions and contusions to their limbs, were conscious, and were sent to Fengyuan Hospital for medical attention.

The Third Highway Police Brigade of the National Highway Police Bureau stated that a man surnamed Chang, driving a passenger car in the outer lane, allegedly failed to maintain a safe distance and collided with three vehicles ahead, causing the accident. The scene was cleared at 12:19 PM, and all lanes were reopened.
