Central News Agency (Reporter Chang Yi-lien, Kaohsiung, 3rd) - A man surnamed Ling suspected of drug-driving last night in Kaohsiung's Zuoying District refused inspection and fled, colliding with two cars and two motorcycles in the process, causing minor injuries to three people. Mr. Ling was arrested by Kaohsiung police after crashing into a roadside tree, tested positive for drugs, and methamphetamine was seized from his vehicle. The case has been transferred on suspicion of public endangerment and other charges.

According to officers from the Zuoying Precinct of the Kaohsiung City Police Department, during patrol duties around 9 PM last night in Zuoying District, they noticed a car with license plates suspected of abnormal reflection due to plating. Officers signaled the driver to stop for inspection, but the 48-year-old Mr. Ling refused and fled. The police immediately reported for interception and pursuit, and followed to monitor.

The police stated that Mr. Ling drove his vehicle eastward along Danong 1st Road, and when turning right onto Minzu 1st Road, he sideswiped two vehicles and then crashed into two motorcycles in the motorcycle waiting area, causing injuries to two motorcyclists and one passenger. All were sent to the hospital and are not in life-threatening condition.

The police pointed out that Mr. Ling stopped after colliding with a roadside tree on Minzu 1st Road. Two bags, totaling 6.68 grams gross weight, of Class 2 controlled drug methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were seized from his vehicle. Additionally, Mr. Ling tested positive for methamphetamine in a saliva rapid test. He will be fined according to Article 35 of the Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act, and the entire case has been transferred for investigation on suspicion of public endangerment, violation of the Drug Hazard Prevention Act, and other charges.
