(Central News Agency reporter Guan Ruiping, Miaoli County, 3rd) A murder case occurred yesterday in Toufen City, Miaoli County. A man surnamed Lin allegedly stabbed and killed a man surnamed Chen in a fit of rage after drinking, supposedly due to dissatisfaction with being mocked by Chen for his poor economic ability and lack of money. Police were notified and arrested the suspect Lin. The entire case has been transferred for prosecution on suspicion of murder.
Wu Guowei, Deputy Director of Toufen Branch, Miaoli County Police Bureau, stated today that at around 9 PM yesterday, May 2nd, they received a report from the public about a stabbing incident on Ziqiang Road in Toufen City. They immediately dispatched online police units to investigate. It was understood that the suspect Lin and the victim Chen lived in a 5-story apartment building that had been converted into multiple rental suites. The two lived on the same floor but in different rooms, and had been roommates for 7-8 years and were well-acquainted. The victim Chen also served as the building manager.
Police investigation revealed that the suspect Lin was a dispatched temporary worker. Last night, he was drinking in his room and allegedly became angry after Chen mocked him for "having no money." After an argument, he lost control and stabbed Chen. Chen suffered over 10 stab wounds and fled outdoors, collapsing on the roadside due to excessive blood loss. He was rushed to the hospital by ambulance but succumbed to his injuries.
Police stated that suspect Lin remained at the scene after the incident and confessed to the crime when officers arrived. He did not resist during the arrest. Most of the deceased Chen's injuries were concentrated on his upper body. The entire case will undergo further autopsy and will be transferred to the Miaoli District Prosecutors Office for investigation on suspicion of murder. (Edited by Xiao Bowen) 1150503
