(Central News Agency reporter Yang Yao-ru, Taipei, 3rd) In a reshuffle of diplomatic personnel, Wang Wei-lung, who was on secondment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been promoted to Deputy Representative to India. The Director of the Legislative Yuan's Department of International Affairs has been appointed Director of the Auckland Office.

Former Deputy Representative to India Hsieh Po-hui passed away suddenly on December 12 last year while on official duty. The Executive Yuan recently approved that his vacancy would be filled by Wang Wei-lung, formerly a Deputy Consul-General in the Department of Asian-Pacific Affairs, who was on secondment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Wang Wei-lung is a career diplomat, who previously served as Deputy Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston before returning to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and had also been posted to Dubai, Fiji, and other countries.

Additionally, Li Hsiu-yao, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, has been promoted to Deputy Representative to the EU and Belgium. Lin Chen-fu, a Consul-General in the Department of Asian-Pacific Affairs who was on secondment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been appointed Director of the Auckland Office. The current Director of the Auckland Office, Chen Yung-shao, has been transferred to serve as Consul-General on secondment at the Department of Asian-Pacific Affairs.

Lin Chen-fu is also a career diplomat, holding a Master's degree from National Chengchi University's Graduate Institute of Diplomacy. He previously served as Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Busan, Section Chief of the Parliamentary Affairs Division at the Representative Office of Taiwan in the EU and Belgium, Deputy Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Public Diplomacy Department, and Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Information Services, among other positions.
