(Central News Agency reporter Hsieh Ching-wen, Taipei, 3rd) Uni-President 7-ELEVEn Lions pitcher Chiang Shao-ching stepped onto the CPBL first-team mound again after 596 days. Today, he started against the Rakuten Monkeys, pitching 3 innings with 4 strikeouts, allowing 1 unearned run, and throwing a fastball at 155 km/h, with no decision.

On September 14, 2024, Chiang Shao-ching, then playing for the Fubon Guardians, started against the Rakuten Monkeys. In the top of the 2nd inning, with two outs, facing Ma Chieh-sen, he threw the first pitch and then squatted down in pain due to a right pectoral major muscle tear. After 596 days of rehabilitation and preparation, he returned today wearing a Lions uniform for a first-team start, coincidentally against the Rakuten Monkeys again.

Chiang Shao-ching started today at the Tainan Asia-Pacific International Baseball Training Center Main Stadium. In the top of the 1st inning, he walked the first batter, Ho Pin-shih-jung. After one out, the runner stole second, and then advanced to third due to an error. He gave up 1 run on a ground ball but quickly settled down and did not allow further runs.

In the top of the 2nd inning, Chiang Shao-ching walked the first batter, Li Hsun-chieh, then induced a double play, and got Sung Chia-hsiang to fly out to right field. In the top of the 3rd inning, after one out, he gave up a double to Lin Cheng-hua, then struck out two consecutive batters, freezing the Monkeys' offense and allowing no runs. He exited after completing 3 innings.

In his first first-team start since returning from injury, Chiang Shao-ching threw a total of 54 pitches over 3 innings, allowing 1 hit, striking out 4, walking 2, and giving up 1 unearned run. His fastest pitch was 155 km/h.

Chiang Shao-ching exited today with the team trailing 0-1. In the bottom of the 5th inning, the Lions tied the score with consecutive hits from Su Chih-chieh and Pan Chieh-kai. After one out, Chen Sheng-ping's sacrifice fly brought in the go-ahead run, and Chiang Shao-ching had no decision. (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150503
