Taishin Hawks catcher Wu Ming-hung began serving as a player and a second-team catcher coach this year. Recently, due to injuries among Taishin Hawks catchers, Wu Ming-hung was promoted to the first team on April 28. He said he felt calm when returning to play in the first team. After three games in the first team before today, he started as catcher today, partnering with sidearm pitcher Huang Tzu-peng.

When asked about the difference between being a player and a coach, Wu Ming-hung told the Central News Agency that when he first received the team's proposal, he felt it was a rare opportunity that would also help his future career and serve as a learning experience. Taishin Hawks' starting pitcher Huang Tzu-peng is one year senior to Wu Ming-hung from Chinese Culture University. Wu Ming-hung said that after Huang Tzu-peng joined the Taishin Hawks, after catching for him in the bullpen for the first time, he told Huang Tzu-peng: "It's been about 10 years since I last caught your pitches."
