New Taipei City Fire Department reported that they received a call at around 11:53 AM regarding an emergency rescue at the Longdong Climbing Area in Gongliao District. The scene involved a woman who accidentally fell from a height of about 10 meters while climbing.
Firefighters arrived at the scene around 12:30 PM. Due to the steep terrain, they had to descend into the valley. Rescue personnel reached the patient at 12:54 PM, at which point she was already unconscious and in an OHCA state.
Ruifang Precinct of the New Taipei City Police Department stated that preliminary investigations identified the fallen woman as a Ms. Cai, born in 1982 (71st year of the Republic of China calendar), who accidentally fell from a 10-meter high slope while climbing. After rescue personnel reached the patient, they observed head injuries and provided initial bandaging.
Firefighters, police, and coast guard all participated in the rescue, overcoming terrain obstacles to reach the scene. Upon contacting the patient, they found her life to be in danger and that it was difficult to transport her on site. The National Airborne Service Corps dispatched a helicopter, which, after completing the hoist, transported her to a yacht marina near the Ocean Park, where she was transferred to a Ruifang Fire Department ambulance and sent to Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment.
