(Central News Agency reporter Lu Yen-tzu, Taipei 2nd) The 114th annual income tax final declaration began yesterday, but due to it being a holiday, some people went to the National Tax Administration only to find it closed. The National Tax Administration reminds that counter filing services will be provided starting from May 4. Citizens can either make an appointment for a service slot within the next three working days on the Ministry of Finance's electronic filing and tax payment service website or the National Tax Administration website in various regions, or they can obtain a queue number on the website on the same day before reporting in person, which can reduce on-site waiting time.

The Kaohsiung National Tax Administration of the Ministry of Finance explained that due to the three-day Labor Day holiday on May 1, counter online filing services will begin on May 4 this year. If citizens need to handle income inquiry and online filing services in person, they can first go to the Ministry of Finance's electronic filing and tax payment service website or the National Tax Administration website in various regions to make an appointment for a service slot within the next three working days. As long as they report within their appointed time slot, they will enjoy priority call service, reducing on-site waiting time.

The National Tax Administration added that the toll-free service hotline 0800-000-321 also provides voice reservation tax filing services. After citizens dial the toll-free service line and enter the reservation voice process, they only need to enter the first three digits of the postal code of the tax office they wish to visit or choose a National Tax Administration themselves to complete the reservation service.

If no advance reservation is made, citizens can also make good use of the same-day queue number service. The National Tax Administration explained that citizens who wish to file taxes in person on the same day can go to the Ministry of Finance's electronic filing and tax payment service website or the National Tax Administration website in various regions, click on "Same-Day Queue Number," obtain a number first, and then report in person, which can save waiting time.

The National Tax Administration reminds that the tax filing reservation webpage can view the calling progress and the number of people waiting on site, which is convenient for citizens to plan their itinerary and reduce on-site waiting time.

In addition, various regional National Tax Administrations have planned extended service hours this year as usual. According to the plan, from May 25 to 29, and on the final declaration deadline of June 1, counter services will be extended during lunch hours each day, and on June 1 itself, service hours will be extended until 7 PM.
