The Ministry of Transportation and Communications' National Freeway Bureau stated that 12 sections, including National Freeway 1 Northbound Xiluo-Puyan System and National Freeway 5 Northbound Yilan-Pinglin, are expected to experience congestion in the afternoon. National Freeway 5 Northbound may remain congested until late at night.

The Labor Day holiday lasts for three days, with today being the second day. The National Freeway Bureau issued a press release stating that as of 11 AM, the total traffic volume on national freeways was 30.9 million vehicle-kilometers. The estimated traffic volume for today is 107 million vehicle-kilometers, which is 1.2 times the average weekday annual volume, remaining within the expected traffic flow range.

In the morning, congested sections on national freeways primarily included National Freeway 1 Northbound Donghu-Xizhi and National Freeway 1 Elevated Northbound Tiding-Xizhi End. Other sections maintained smooth traffic flow.

The National Freeway Bureau stated that traffic accidents occurred on national freeways this morning, including a three-car rear-end collision at 9:31 AM on National Freeway 3 Northbound at 323.9 km, a two-car rear-end collision at 10:10 AM on National Freeway 1 Northbound at 351 km, and a two-car rear-end collision at 10:13 AM on National Freeway 1 Elevated Southbound at 69.7 km. According to the National Freeway Bureau's traffic forecast, congestion on National Freeway 1 Northbound Miaoli to Hukou and National Freeway 3 Northbound Guansi to Daxi is expected to start at 4 PM and may gradually ease after 8 PM. As for National Freeway 5 Northbound Yilan-Pinglin, traffic is expected to build up from 1 PM and may remain congested until late at night.
