(Central News Agency reporter Wang Hsin-yu, Taipei 2nd) Korean girl group ODD YOUTH visited Taiwan for the first time today. The five members greeted in Chinese, and member YE EUM said in Chinese: "I heard Taiwan has beautiful scenery, and coming today, I realized it's truly beautiful." They also look forward to trying fried dough sticks, bubble tea, and other local delicacies.
ODD YOUTH consists of MAIKA, MYAH, KANIE, SUMMER, and YE EUM. They greeted in Chinese during today's interview and separately expressed greetings in Chinese such as "Nice to meet you," "I love you," "Let's make beautiful memories," and "Taiwan's scenery is beautiful."
ODD YOUTH members said that before coming to Taiwan, they saw many photos and videos of Taiwan's scenery and food on social media. MAIKA said, "I searched for stinky tofu and know it has a strong smell, but I love challenges, so I want to try it." Member MYAH wished to eat fried dough sticks and drink bubble tea, hoping to taste the most authentic version.
For their new song, ODD YOUTH members specifically controlled their diet and exercised. KANIE said that because people always have desires for food, "I only eat one meal a day, but I eat what I want, combined with aerobic exercise and strength training until I'm a bit breathless." She claimed to be the biggest eater among the members, capable of eating at least 30 xiaolongbao.
MAIKA is Japanese. She revealed that her Korean wasn't fluent when she first arrived in Korea, and she relied on a translator to chat with other members. Once, she wanted to tell SUMMER "I want to go to your bed" but it came out as "invade your bed," becoming a funny anecdote. (Editor: Hsieh Ya-chu) 1150502
