(Tehran, May 1st, Central News Agency) Amidst the impact of the war between the United States and Israel against Iran and years of sanctions, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei urged the Iranian people to launch an economic war to "disappoint" their enemies.

Agence France-Presse reported that Mojtaba stated in a written statement, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has demonstrated its progress and excellence to the world in military battles against its enemies," but "must also disappoint and defeat them in the economic and cultural jihad stages."

He then called for "prioritizing the consumption of domestically produced goods" and stated that "owners of damaged businesses should avoid layoffs and workforce reductions as much as possible."

Despite a ceasefire in the Middle East war, US forces continue to blockade Iranian ports, disrupting oil shipments. According to data from the Statistical Centre of Iran, the inflation rate has exceeded 50% in recent weeks.
