(Central News Agency, Taipei, 2nd) According to official reports, a fire broke out early in the morning at a foot massage parlor in Lingbao City, Henan Province, China, during the May Day holiday, killing 6 people.

CCTV News reported that the Lingbao City Fire and Rescue Bureau in Henan was notified at 6:30 AM on May 2nd that a fire had broken out at the Lanfeng Foot Massage Parlor and that people were trapped. The 119 command center immediately dispatched personnel to deal with the situation. They arrived at the scene at 6:36 AM and quickly began rescuing people and fighting the fire. The open flames were extinguished at 6:56 AM. Six trapped individuals were rescued from the scene and sent to the hospital for emergency treatment, but they died. Five other people were rescued without injury. Traces of dense smoke were found at the scene.
