Central News Agency (Reporter Lu Tai-cheng, Taitung County, 2nd) – A spectacular flock of egrets has recently been seen soaring over Longtian Village in Luye Township, Taitung County, or resting in the fields, adding to the beauty of the rural landscape. Tourists exclaimed it looked like a dynamic landscape painting, while local residents happily stated that this is the reward for their eco-friendly environment.
During the consecutive holidays, many tourists chose to travel to Luye Township, Taitung County, to experience the rural scenery of the home of hot air balloons and paragliding areas.
Mr. Cheng from Taipei woke up at 6 AM for the past two days to breathe the fresh air. He said that he stayed at a homestay in Longtian Village for these two days, and in the morning, he saw flocks of egrets soaring over the large grassland and farmlands in the paragliding landing area, which was like a dynamic landscape painting. “My whole day is filled with good mood; this is how a vacation should be.”
Chang Ching-jung, chairman of the Luye Township Longtian Community Development Association and owner of Ah Rong's Grocery Store, told the Central News Agency reporter that his organic pineapple farm is located directly below where the egret flocks soar, and he is very happy to see the egrets like this land.
“This is the best reward for a friendly environment,” said a local resident surnamed Chou. He added that as the environment improves, the numbers of insects, fish, and amphibians have recovered, attracting egrets to forage and inhabit. This is not only a natural landscape but also an important indicator of ecological health. (Editor: Chen Jen-hua) 1150502
