(Washington D.C., May 1st, Central News Agency reporter Hou Tzu-ying) As conflicts in the Middle East continue, it is reported that Iran has submitted its latest peace proposal to the United States via Pakistani mediators. U.S. President Donald Trump stated today that Iran wants to reach an agreement, but he is not satisfied with Tehran's current proposals, and both sides are negotiating. When asked if he wanted to bomb Iran, he replied, "I prefer not to do that."

Trump, during a media interview at the White House today, was asked about the situation in Iran. He responded that Iran wants to reach an agreement, but he is not satisfied with the current situation. "We'll see what happens next."

He pointed out that the U.S. had just spoken with Iran, and he is currently not satisfied with Iran's proposals.

CNN earlier reported that sources familiar with the negotiation process revealed that Iran had submitted its latest peace proposal to the United States via Pakistani mediators.

Additionally, Trump said that Iran's leadership is fragmented and at odds, with one faction wanting one kind of deal and another faction wanting a different kind of deal, which makes it difficult for the U.S. "We are negotiating with them."

Regarding the briefing he received yesterday from CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper on potential options for action against Iran, Trump stated that it was mainly about "whether to bomb Iran, resolve it completely, or try to reach a deal?"

When pressed by the media whether he wanted to bomb Iran, Trump replied, "From a humanitarian perspective, I prefer not to."

When asked if he was concerned about the U.S. ammunition supply, Trump said he was not concerned. "In fact, we have more than ever before, because we have stockpiles all over the world, and we can draw from them if needed."

On February 28, the U.S. allied with Israel to launch military action against Iran, triggering conflicts across the Middle East. It is reported that this war has depleted a large amount of the Trump administration's critical ammunition stockpiles, raising concerns about rising war costs and weapon replenishment issues.
