(Central News Agency reporter Zhao Minya, Taipei 1st) The Arizona Commerce Authority held the "Arizona AI and Semiconductor Global Forum." TAITRA announced today that TAITRA Chairman James Huang led a Taiwanese enterprise delegation to attend. Over 150 business leaders from 81 companies in fields such as semiconductors, AI solutions, ICT, and key components participated, demonstrating Taiwan's crucial position in the international supply chain.

TAITRA issued a press release stating that the Arizona AI and Semiconductor Global Forum was first held in Phoenix on April 30. James Huang led a Taiwanese enterprise delegation to attend, with 81 companies and over 150 business leaders participating, making it the largest international delegation at the forum.

Sandra Watson, President of the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), the forum's organizer, pointed out that since 2020, Arizona has attracted over US$195 billion in foreign direct investment, and ranks first in the United States in semiconductor and computer equipment exports.

She emphasized that Arizona not only firmly holds a leading position in semiconductor manufacturing but also has strong investment attractiveness in cutting-edge fields such as AI, data centers, clean energy, aerospace and defense, and autonomous driving. It will continue to create a high-quality environment full of growth potential for global investors through policy support and talent cultivation.

James Huang stated in his speech that Arizona has become the preferred strategic hub for global semiconductor innovation, and the accelerated development of AI must be built on a solid semiconductor infrastructure and a highly trusted partnership. He pointed out that Arizona, with its forward-looking industrial policies and complete talent cultivation system, is an indispensable key anchor in the global AI ecosystem.

James Huang said that TAITRA, in line with government policies, assisted the Ministry of Economic Affairs in officially establishing the Taiwan Trade and Investment Service Center in Phoenix, dedicated to providing one-stop investment support services for Taiwanese enterprises and strengthening the resilience of the Taiwan-US supply chain. He also expressed hope that cooperation between the two sides is not just about building factories, but also about jointly building a strong industrial fortress and defining the industrial landscape for the next century.

TAITRA pointed out that at the forum's opening dinner, witnessed by James Huang, the Arizona Commerce Authority and the Taiwan AI Alliance officially signed the "Cross-National AI Innovation and Investment Ecosystem Strategic Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)." This MOU declares a focus on four major cooperation items, including promoting cross-national joint investment and jointly cultivating innovative talents with an international perspective; connecting with Arizona's top university resources to accelerate the commercialization of R&D results; and using Arizona as a pilot base for Taiwan's AI technology verification and market expansion.

TAITRA stated that in addition to the semiconductor and AI industries, the biomedical industry is also a key focus for Taiwanese enterprises investing in the US in recent years. During this trip, James Huang specially led a delegation to visit the Taiwan AI Biomedical Exhibition Center.

Yang Shu-chen, Chairman of Gigabyte Group, said that the Taiwan Biomedical Exhibition Center in Phoenix gathers 16 companies, showcasing Taiwan's strengths in digital health, telemedicine, precision medicine, smart long-term care, and innovative medical devices. It also allows Taiwanese enterprises in the delegation to see that besides semiconductors and high-tech industries, there are many other business opportunities worth developing in the United States.

TAITRA stated that this delegation visit demonstrates that Taiwan's economic and trade cooperation with Arizona has entered a new strategic phase. In the future, TAITRA will continue to deepen economic and trade exchanges at all levels through its global service network, assisting Taiwanese enterprises in precise planning amidst the wave of Taiwan-US industrial cooperation, and jointly creating a new win-win situation in economic and trade relations.
