(Central News Agency reporter Wen Kuei-Hsiang, Taipei, 1st) Today is Labor Day. President Lai Ching-te posted on Facebook, stating that workers are the most important force driving Taiwan forward. He mentioned that the government has continuously improved labor conditions in recent years, and this year marks the 10th consecutive annual increase in the minimum wage, benefiting over 2.47 million people. At the same time, policies for parental leave, family care leave, and the new corporate childcare system are also being advanced, hoping to alleviate the burden on working parents and create a more friendly labor environment.

The President said he appreciates every worker striving diligently in different positions, and their dedication and perseverance are the most important force for Taiwan's continuous progress. He added that the government has continuously worked for the welfare of workers in recent years.

The President further pointed out that this year's minimum wage has been increased for the 10th consecutive year, with monthly salary at NT$29,500 and hourly wage at NT$196, benefiting over 2.47 million people. Additionally, parental leave can now be taken on a "daily basis" and family care leave on an "hourly basis," making caring for family no longer an obstacle to career development.

At the same time, the "Enhanced Corporate Childcare New System" promoted by the Ministry of Labor officially launched today. The President emphasized that for many parents, besides working hard every day, they also worry about who will look after their children. The government provides subsidies, and companies care for their employees, encouraging businesses to establish childcare facilities, pay childcare staff salaries, and reduce childcare costs. Childcare subsidies are also being increased and application requirements made more flexible, ensuring children are looked after and providing strong support for every hardworking parent.

The President stated that workplace safety, labor dignity, and living care are directions the government will continue to strive for. As Taiwan's industries continue to prosper, the labor environment must also progress together; this is the path Taiwan should take. Let's work hand-in-hand to keep Taiwan moving forward.
