(Central News Agency reporter Liu Chien-pang, Taipei, 1st) Today is May Day Labor Day, and there are multiple parades in Taipei City. The police have planned for 100 police officers and 80 reserve officers, and to maintain traffic order and security around important government offices such as the Presidential Office, security intensity will be increased depending on the event situation.

The Zhongzheng First Precinct of the Taipei City Police Department stated that three assemblies and parades have been approved for May 1st on sections of Ketagalan Boulevard, Jinan Road Section 1, Xiangyang Road, and Zhongshan South Road in Zhongzheng District. To maintain traffic order and safety during the events, traffic diversion and control duties have been planned, with 100 police officers and 80 reserve officers deployed.

The police said that the "May Day Labor Parade" assembly will start at 10 AM today, with all lanes of Ketagalan Boulevard (Zhongshan South Road to Gongyuan Road) in both east and west directions closed to traffic. Traffic control will be lifted after the parade procession sets off.

The civic group will depart at 1:30 PM, with the parade route being Ketagalan Boulevard (departing after assembly) → (turn right) Gongyuan Road → (turn right) Qingdao West Road → (turn right) the western slow lane of Zhongshan South Road → (turn left) Jinan Road Section 1 (disbanding after assembly).

The police stated that the assembly location for this event is all lanes of Jinan Road Section 1 (Zhongshan South Road to Zhenjiang Street) in both east and west directions, which has been closed to traffic since 8:30 AM for the organizers to set up stages and other hardware. The road is expected to reopen to traffic after the event concludes and equipment is removed at 6 PM.

Secondly, for the "Abolish Waiting Period and Reform Home Care Worker System" assembly, starting from 9 AM, one lane of the eastern slow lane of Zhongshan South Road (Jinan Road Section 1 to Xuzhou Road) will be closed to traffic. The road is expected to reopen to traffic after the event concludes and equipment is removed at 12:20 PM.

In addition, for the "Denial of the Validity of Constitutional Amendments by the Perpetual Parliament" assembly and parade, the gathering point is the southern 1.5 lanes of Xiangyang Road (Guanqian Road to Nanyang Street). Traffic control will begin at 1 PM and will be lifted after the parade procession sets off.

The police said that this event will depart at 2:30 PM, with the parade route being the southern side of Xiangyang Road (departing after assembly) → (U-turn) Xiangyang Road, Nanyang Street intersection → (straight) northern side of Xiangyang Road → (turn left) Chongqing South Road → (turn right) Hengyang Road → (turn right) Bo'ai Road → (turn right) Zhongxiao West Road → (turn right) Gongyuan Road → (turn left) Guiyang Street → (turn right) eastern slow lane of Zhongshan South Road → (turn left) Liberty Square (disbanding after assembly). The assembly at Liberty Square sidewalk will end at 3:30 PM on May 1st, and it is judged not to affect road traffic.

The Zhongzheng First Precinct stated that to maintain traffic order and security around important government offices such as the Presidential Office and the Judicial Yuan, traffic controls on Ketagalan Boulevard, Guiyang Street, Huaining Street, and Gongyuan Road will be expanded if necessary, depending on the event situation and security considerations. Security will also be strengthened, and safety barriers will be erected to prevent conflicts from occurring if crowds shift. (Edited by: Lung Po-an) 1150501
