According to the latest information from the Central Weather Administration, a magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred at 8:39 PM today, with a depth of 98.3 kilometers. The epicenter was located 38.7 kilometers northeast of Yilan County Government (in the eastern sea area of Taiwan). The maximum intensity was 4 in Yilan County, Hsinchu County, Nantou County, and Hualien County.

Taiwan Railways explained in writing that Nan'ao and Shulin both experienced intensity 4, and operations between Dong'ao and Heping and Taipei and Yingge (including Shulin marshalling yard) will be handled according to intensity 4 regulations.
