(Central News Agency reporter Huang Hsu-Sheng, New Taipei, 1st) Hon Hai Group's Tucheng plant was searched by investigators. Section Chief Tseng and Manager Chien were allegedly involved in receiving kickbacks from vendors. The New Taipei District Prosecutors Office today ordered their release on bail of NT$2 million and NT$1 million respectively, and restricted their departure from the country and sea, on suspicion of violating the Securities Exchange Act for special breach of trust, among other offenses. Section Chief Tseng's wife, who is suspected of money laundering, was also reclassified as a defendant.

The New Taipei District Prosecutors Office directed the Taipei City Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau to search Hon Hai's Tucheng plant and related personnel's residences on April 30. Section Chief Tseng, Manager Chien, and Tseng's wife, Ms. Chang, were brought in for questioning.

Investigators found that Tseng and Chien allegedly violated their duties by receiving kickbacks from vendors during Hon Hai's global expansion plan, with preliminary estimates reaching tens of millions of NT dollars. The case also involves false registrations and document forgery.

After an overnight review by prosecutors, Section Chief Tseng was granted bail of NT$2 million and Manager Chien was granted bail of NT$1 million today for violating the Securities Exchange Act's special breach of trust, as well as the Criminal Code's offenses of falsifying business records and document forgery. Both are restricted from leaving the country and sea.

Ms. Chang, originally listed as a witness, was reclassified as a defendant due to suspicions of assisting in the flow of funds, and was released after questioning.

Hon Hai Group issued a major announcement yesterday evening, stating that the case involves specific employees and does not concern the company itself. The company emphasized that operations are normal and there is no significant impact on its finances or business, and it will fully cooperate with the judicial investigation.

Investigators stated that the case is still clarifying related capital flows and accountability, and further expansion of the investigation is not ruled out. (Edited by Lee Shu-Hua) 1150501
