(Central News Agency reporter Lu Enci, Taipei 1st) CPC Corporation, Taiwan, announced today that in order to cooperate with the government's price stabilization policy, it will not adjust the prices of household liquefied petroleum gas (bottled gas), industrial propane, butane, mixed propane-butane, and vehicle liquefied petroleum gas starting from midnight tomorrow.

CPC Taiwan explained that due to continued tensions in the Middle East, sea freight rates for liquefied petroleum gas have significantly increased, and import gas source costs remain high. According to the liquefied petroleum gas price adjustment mechanism, the price of liquefied petroleum gas should be increased by NT$1.5 per kilogram in May 2026. However, to cooperate with the government's price stabilization policy, this price difference will be temporarily absorbed by CPC Corporation, Taiwan, and prices will not be increased, thereby taking care of households and catering businesses nationwide, alleviating people's burden and maintaining price stability.

CPC Taiwan stated that it will continue to monitor international oil and gas market dynamics and review them on a rolling basis. In addition, after calculation, as of the end of March this year, the cumulative amount absorbed for liquefied petroleum gas products this year is approximately NT$2.5 billion.
