(Central News Agency reporter Hsieh Chun-Lung, Taipei, 30th) In the case where Tseng Chih-hsin, the responsible person of Yunyun Technology, was suspected of murdering CTO Liang, Tseng Chih-hsin previously admitted in court, "I made the biggest mistake of my life," and wept an apology in court. The Taipei District Court today sentenced Tseng Chih-hsin to life imprisonment for murder. The verdict can be appealed.
The prosecution investigated that Tseng Chih-hsin and a man surnamed Liang had repeatedly clashed and had animosity due to work matters. Tseng Chih-hsin then purchased a forged chef's knife on February 26 last year and kept it in a company cabinet. Tseng Chih-hsin saw Mr. Liang post an article criticizing the company's operations in the internal company group chat on March 6 of the same year, and also learned that Mr. Liang would resign on the 7th. He invited Mr. Liang and an HR manager surnamed Lu to the company meeting room on the afternoon of the 7th to handle the handover and resignation matters.
The prosecution stated that on the afternoon of March 7, Tseng Chih-hsin hid the chef's knife in the left chest pocket of his vest before going to the meeting room to meet Mr. Liang and Mr. Lu. After the three discussed whether to retract Mr. Liang's article, Tseng Chih-hsin feigned leaving the meeting room, walked behind Mr. Liang, and stabbed Mr. Liang in the head, back, and neck at least 9 times with the chef's knife. Mr. Liang was sent to the hospital and was pronounced dead on the same day due to a penetrating injury to his upper left lung lobe and massive bleeding from multiple muscle injuries.
The Taipei District Prosecutors Office indicted Tseng Chih-hsin for murder in June last year and transferred the case to the Taipei District Court's citizen judge panel for trial. After intensive deliberation by the collegial panel recently, the verdict was announced at 2:30 PM today. The court has not yet explained the recognized facts of the crime and the reasons for sentencing. (Edited by Lee Hsi-chang) 1150430
