However, as TSMC fluctuated around its flat price of NT$2180, the index's gains narrowed to around a hundred points. Delta Electronics continued to hit new highs, and thematic stocks such as ABF and optical communication sectors surged to support the market. Coupled with the continued strong performance of the 'double thousand-dollar' stocks (the highest-priced and second-highest-priced stocks), the Taiwan stock market saw 48 stocks return to the NT$1,000 level.

Major US stock indices showed mixed performance, closing with both gains and losses. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 235.72 points or 2.35%; TSMC ADR (American Depositary Receipts) closed in the red, slightly down 0.38%, while UMC ADR surged over 9%.

The Taiwan stock market opened today at 39571.46 points, with an intraday high of 39848.22 points, an increase of over 544 points, but subsequently, the gains narrowed.

As of around 11:30 AM, the Taiwan Weighted Index rose 171.33 points to 39474.83 points, a gain of 0.43%. Electronic stocks rose 0.44%, financial stocks fell by about 0.5%, and the OTC index rose 1.5%.

TSMC fluctuated around its flat price of NT$2180; MediaTek surged 1.55% to NT$2615; UMC rose over 6% during intraday trading. Delta Electronics reached NT$2280 in early trading, continuing to hit new highs, with an intraday gain of over 1%.

ABF stocks surged, with Unimicron, Nanya PCB, and Zhen Ding-KY hitting their daily limits, reaching NT$883, NT$1005, and NT$421 respectively. Kinsus Interconnect Technology rose over 6%, and Nanya PCB reached NT$1,000 for the first time.

Robot and smart machinery concept stocks performed strongly, with Hiwin Technologies and Youngsun hitting their daily limits, reaching NT$143.5 and NT$87.7 respectively. Solomon Technology, Chroma ATE, and Canon rose by about 5%.

Optical communication stocks were strong, with Broadweb, Tung Hsin Electronic, and Advanced Wireless Semiconductor hitting their daily limits, reaching NT$1145, NT$230, and NT$347.5 respectively. Epistar briefly touched its daily limit of NT$2685, OptiWorks rose over 5%, and Accton Technology surged over 4%. Memory stocks were under pressure, with Macronix, Nanya Technology, and Winbond Electronics falling.

Observing the performance of high-priced stocks, the highest-priced stock ASPEED Technology and the second-highest-priced stock InnoLux showed slight gains, maintaining the 'double thousand-dollar' situation. Most high-priced stocks fluctuated, with Taiwan Union Technology, Alchip Technologies, InnoLux, and ASMedia Technology showing strong performance. Kao-Li and Walsin Technology hit their daily limits, reaching NT$1250 and NT$1210 respectively.
