(Central News Agency reporter Tseng Chih-yi, Taipei, 30th) Taipower's cultural and creative products, continually re-manufactured from retired power industry materials in recent years, have sparked online discussions. Coinciding with its 80th anniversary, Taipower has once again launched cups, bowls, and hooks made from retired electricity meters and cables, which are intimately connected to people's daily lives. These items embody the beauty of new life for old objects and hold special commemorative significance.

Taipower stated that as the power equipment closest to people's daily lives, electricity meters silently record the trajectory of countless family lives. To transform this memory of energy into the warmth of life, Taipower launched the "Retired Electricity Meter Remanufacturing Project," collecting 5,000 retired mechanical electricity meters from across Taiwan that have completed their historical mission. Their glass covers are disassembled and re-melted to transform into stylish cups and bowls for the dining table, named "Qian Qian Cup" and "Wa Wa Bowl," inspired by the power units kilowatt-hour (kWh) and Watt.

Taipower pointed out that the Wa Wa Bowl reproduces the classic five-digit dial imagery of electricity meters, with the pointer scale "19468" containing a power code, symbolizing Taipower's connection with Taiwan for 80 years since its establishment in 1946. The electricity meter glass cups and bowls are now available for limited pre-order on the crowdfunding platform Zezz.

Furthermore, power cables, which transmit electricity and illuminate countless homes, also receive a new life after fulfilling their duty. Taipower explained that embodying the concept of "hooks" that protect frontline workers' safety, Taipower has melted down retired cables and recast them into versatile hooks that serve as keychains and backpack accessories. These preserve the original natural texture of the cables, imparting a unique mark of time to each hook, making them exclusive corporate promotional items.

In addition to re-manufacturing retired materials into quality items, Taipower has also materialized its 80th-anniversary exclusive identifier by launching limited edition commemorative badges. Taipower stated that the linear design of the "80" not only symbolizes the power network spread across the nation but also its interlocking circles represent Taipower's steady progress in three aspects: stable power supply, grid resilience, and net-zero transition.
