(Central News Agency reporter Wang Chao-yu, Keelung, 30th) Following the Legislative Yuan's third reading and amendment of parts of the "Local Government Act" last year, the number of deputy county/city mayors increased from the current fixed one to two. Keelung Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang stated today that details, including the candidate for the deputy mayor, will be announced publicly after the City Council meeting on May 5.
Hsieh Kuo-liang said today, while being interviewed at the unveiling ceremony for the Keelung City Government's Department of Legal Affairs and Labor, that the city government will undergo a series of personnel changes, including the new deputy mayor, secretary-general, deputy secretary-general, and the newly announced Director of the Department of Legal Affairs and Labor, Liu Bang-hsiu. The purpose is to ensure a smoother transition in future municipal operations.
Hsieh Kuo-liang mentioned that he had considered waiting until the next mayoral term to adjust some personnel-related arrangements, but he believes there are still more than seven months left in his term, and it is crucial to actively and quickly place candidates in appropriate positions to continue working diligently.
