US-Iran War Key News
(Central News Agency, Washington, 29th, comprehensive foreign report) The "Washington Post" today cited several US officials as saying that the US Navy aircraft carrier "USS Gerald R. Ford" is expected to withdraw from the Middle East within the next few days and return to the US homeland.
While US-Iran hostilities continue, the US military has deployed three aircraft carriers in the Middle East. The "USS Ford" is one of them, with the other two being the "USS George H.W. Bush" and the "USS Abraham Lincoln."
During the "USS Ford's" deployment in the Red Sea, the "USS Lincoln" and "USS Bush" were conducting missions in the Arabian Sea, implementing US blockade measures against oil or cargo ships transporting from Iranian ports.
It is currently unclear the exact timing of the "USS Ford's" departure from the Middle East. An official stated that the carrier is expected to arrive back in Virginia around mid-May. (Compiler: Chen Cheng-chien) 1150430
