Nantou School's Damaged Paving to Get Ministry of Education Support

The courtyard of Yuying Elementary School in Puli, Nantou, suffers from severe pavement damage and unevenness. Following a site inspection led by Legislator Ma Wen-chun today, the K-12 Education Administration of the Ministry of Education (MOE) promised to support a 7.975 million TWD project to renovate the courtyard, track-side areas, and drainage systems.

The school's courtyard is a vital space for daily activities, but the interlocking bricks have deteriorated over years of exposure and tree root growth. This has led to water accumulation and a high risk of students tripping. Legislator Ma, along with officials from the MOE and the Nantou County Government, coordinated to ensure the necessary funds were secured for the school's safety improvement.

Ma emphasized that the school also serves as a key public exercise area for the surrounding community. Improving the pavement not only protects students but also enhances local life quality. Principal Lin Hui-jeng expressed gratitude for the prompt response from central and local authorities to these infrastructure needs.
