Mother's Day Approaches: Heartwarming Reunion Event Held Inside Penghu Prison Walls

As Mother's Day approaches, the Penghu District Prosecutors Office and the Penghu Branch of the Aftercare Protection Association organized a two-day 'Mother's Day Face-to-Face Visitation Event' starting from the 28th. Inmates were able to meet their family members up close within the prison walls, creating an atmosphere filled with longing and gratitude. Chief Prosecutor Wu Yi-ming, Prison Warden Tseng Chih-hsun, and Association Chairman Tsai Wan-sheng attended to show care and gifted Mother's Day cakes and bouquets to the mothers. During the event, many inmates held their family members' hands tightly, some whispered apologies and expressions of miss, and others wept in each other's arms, creating a deeply moving scene. Wu Yi-ming stated that family support is an indispensable cornerstone for stable social reintegration. Through this event, inmates can reflect on their past and strengthen their determination to lead a better life, finding their self-worth once again. Tsai Wan-sheng added that aftercare work should begin during incarceration, building confidence through emotional support and resource linking to help them walk a steady path back to society.
