(Central News Agency, Taichung, 29th) A man surnamed Zou yesterday posted multiple messages on social media threatening the head of state. The case was reported by the Criminal Investigation Bureau to the Taichung City Police Department for investigation. The police located the posting position and arrested Zou, sending him for prosecution. The prosecutor today requested detention on charges of intimidation and endangerment of safety, which was approved.

The Taichung City Police Department's Fourth Precinct stated today that the police received a report in the early morning of the 28th that a man had posted remarks on social media accounts such as Facebook and Instagram, including "If Lai Ching-te is not impeached, and my enemy doesn't die, I will never let it go," which were suspected of threatening the head of state. After receiving the report from the Criminal Investigation Bureau, the Taichung Fourth Precinct immediately formed a special task force.

Through the police's online investigation mechanism, the IP address of the suspect Zou's posts was located, and Zou was apprehended in the Wenchang Street area of Nantun District, Taichung City on the same day.

Police investigations revealed that Zou, after an argument with his family, allegedly traveled to Taichung to relax. During this period, due to his poor mood, he posted multiple extreme remarks on his personal online social media accounts, even threatening the head of state, to vent his dissatisfaction.

Police pointed out that since Zou continued to disseminate illegal content that was specific, clear, and harmful, he was arrested according to law, and his mobile phone used for the crime was seized. After police questioning, he was transferred to the Taiwan Taichung District Prosecutors Office for investigation on charges of intimidation and endangerment of safety under the Criminal Code; after further questioning by the prosecutor, a request for detention was made to the court, and the Taichung District Court ruled for detention at 11 AM today.
