Central News Agency (CNA) message.

(CNA reporter Chang Chi, Hualien, 29th) A parent complained on Facebook that their daughter, a second-year junior high student in Hualien, was bullied by a teacher at school, and their requests for help from the school were met with cold treatment, forcing them to transfer their child. The school stated that there were indeed discussions with the parent regarding teacher-student communication issues and that an investigation would be launched to clarify the truth.

The parent's post stated that the child was scolded by the teacher during a three-legged race practice, saying "you run slower than a disabled person," was humiliated for poor grades, and was interrogated in a dark room with closed doors and windows. The teacher also spread rumors in class, claiming the child bullied the teacher.

The parent's post mentioned that they sought help from the school, but the school responded, "Without evidence, we cannot handle it," and finally, they transferred their child in February this year.

The school explained today that after receiving the parent's complaint last year, they invited the homeroom teacher, parent, and student affairs group leader for three meetings in June and July. The parent attended all meetings. At that time, it was assessed as a teacher-student communication problem, and the parent did not file a bullying complaint or petition.

The school stated that it takes the parent's complaint seriously and has launched an investigation and interviewed relevant personnel to clarify the details of the parent's statements one by one.

The school stated that if any student experiences inappropriate discipline or bullying by classmates during their time at school, they can report it to the student affairs office or counseling office. Parents who receive reports from their children can also directly notify the student affairs office, and the school will handle it seriously.

The Hualien County Education Department stated that due to discrepancies in the statements from both sides, it has requested the school to convene a school affairs meeting tomorrow to clarify the truth as soon as possible for both the teacher and the student, ensuring the rights of both parties.
