The county government stated that the increase can be up to 40%, with a maximum monthly increase of NT$3,880 per person, and the additional expenditure will be over NT$30 million.

The Changhua County Government issued a press release explaining that Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei affirmed the hard work of frontline firefighters in disaster relief, emergency medical services, and disaster response. She attended the Changhua County Fire Department's monthly supervisor meeting at noon today and announced the approval of the 'Firefighters' Hazardous Duty Allowance Adjustment Plan.'

Wang Hui-mei pointed out that this allowance adjustment refers to the police's heavy duty allowance grading mechanism, categorizing it into three levels based on the degree of duty hazard: 40%, 35%, and 30%. The maximum increase can be 40%, with a maximum monthly increase of NT$3,880 per person, effective from March 1st and to be paid in a lump sum with the May salary. Subsequent issuance and retroactive processing will be handled according to regulations.

County government personnel further explained that the hazardous duty allowance in firefighters' salaries was originally budgeted at NT$81.43 million for this year, which will increase to NT$113.34 million after the adjustment.

Wang Hui-mei stated that from 2019 to 2025, the county government has cumulatively invested over NT$443 million in budget to comprehensively update the uniforms, disaster relief equipment, and welfare insurance for firefighters and volunteer firefighters. She hopes that through substantial improvements in treatment and equipment upgrades, the efforts of firefighters and volunteer firefighters will receive concrete support and safety guarantees.
