(Central News Agency, Tokyo, 29th, comprehensive foreign report) Japan today announced the list of recipients for this year's "Spring Decoration" (Syokun). The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association stated that Taiwanese calligrapher Chang Pi-huang has been awarded the "Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette" for his long-standing and outstanding contributions to promoting Taiwan-Japan exchange through calligraphy.
The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association today released this news on the social media platform "Facebook" under the name of Katayama Kazuyuki, Representative of the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association.
The post introduced that Chang Pi-huang currently serves as the President of the International Calligraphy Federation and the President of the Republic of China Calligraphy Association. He has dedicated himself to promoting Taiwan-Japan exchange through calligraphy, such as leading joint Japan-Taiwan exhibitions and International Calligraphy Federation exhibitions, publishing works in Japan, and holding solo exhibitions, introducing the "Smart e-Brush" which utilizes artificial intelligence (AI).
The post also pointed out that Chang Pi-huang has repeatedly promoted youth exchanges, contributing to mutual understanding and strengthening cultural exchange between the two sides.
According to NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation), ceremonies for awarding medals and other honors will be held sequentially starting from May 12.
This year's "Spring Decoration" by the Japanese government saw a total of 3,875 recipients, who were awarded medals for their contributions or achievements in various fields. Among them, 10 people received the "Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun," and 1 person received the "Grand Cordon of the Order of the Sacred Treasure."
In addition, 35 people received the "Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star" and the "Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Star," 362 people received the "Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon" and the "Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon," and 834 people received the "Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette" and the "Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Rosette."
Among them, 1,837 recipients were from the private sector, accounting for 47% of the total; 445 recipients were women, accounting for 11% of the total.
