(Central News Agency reporter Wu Ruiqi, Taoyuan, April 28) The National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center today held the groundbreaking ceremony for the "Bailu Anju" social housing new construction turnkey project in Taoyuan City. It plans to build 933 residential units and Taiwan's first comprehensive long-term care building integrated with social housing, hoping to create a landmark community for all ages.

Minister of the Interior Liu Shih-fang, Director of the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Long-term Care Department Zhu Jianfang, DPP Legislator Kuo Yu-ching, and Chairman of the National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center Hua Ching-chun attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Bailu Anju social housing new construction project today. Liu Shih-fang told the media that Taoyuan Bade's Bailu Anju is the first social housing project that combines care for the elderly and housing for young married couples/families, marking another milestone for social housing.

Liu Shih-fang stated that housing justice is a core policy of the government. With the passage of the "Housing Act" amendment, 20% of social housing units will be reserved for "married and parenting families" in the future. Taking "Bailu Anju," which broke ground today, as an example, among the total 933 units, nearly 200 units are expected to be provided for parenting families to live in peace. Taoyuan City has seen significant population influx in recent years, and the central government plans a total investment of NT$23.9 billion for social housing in Taoyuan, with every budget precisely invested in public needs.

Hua Ching-chun stated that social housing construction is not just about building houses, but about integrating with major national policies through various opportunities. This time, social housing and long-term care facilities are integrated and implemented in "Bailu Anju." The biggest highlight of this project, the "Comprehensive Long-term Care Building," was jointly planned and constructed by the National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center and the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The building is a 6-story above-ground structure that will house a small-scale multi-functional service center, group homes, and residential long-term care institutions, aiming to create a landmark community for all ages with the "Long-term Care 3.0" philosophy of community-based elderly care at its core.

The National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center stated that "Bailu Anju" is the 17th social housing project initiated by the central government in Taoyuan City and the first in Bade District. It plans to construct 933 residential units and Taiwan's first comprehensive long-term care building integrated with social housing. The total project cost is approximately NT$6.5104 billion, fully invested and constructed by the central government, with completion expected in 2029.

The National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center added that "Bailu Anju" is located within the block of Section 2, Xingren Road and Hexing 2nd Street in Bade District, formerly the Taoyuan Veterans Factory of the Veterans Affairs Council. The architectural scale consists of 5 buildings, 14 stories above ground and 2 stories underground, providing a total of 933 residential units and 8 shops. It will also include a childcare center to meet local social welfare needs, offering a more convenient childcare option for married and parenting families. (Editor: Li Xizhang) 1150428
