Taiwan Stock Index Futures for May Down 172 Points

Central News Agency, Taipei, April 28. The Taipei stock market ended lower today, falling 94.9 points to close at 39,521.73. The Taiwan stock index futures for May closed at 39,749 points, down 172 points, resulting in a positive basis of 227.27 points compared to the spot price. The Taiwan Futures Exchange set the opening reference prices for the nearest two months as 39,921 points for May and 39,997 points for June. Total turnover in the spot market reached NT$1.0296 trillion. The May contract saw a trading volume of 60,751 lots, while the June contract closed at 39,815 points, down 182 points, with 512 lots traded. Final official prices are subject to TAIFEX announcements.
