The Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications issued a press release today stating that to allow the public to get close to the Danjiang Bridge before its opening, the 'Danjiang Bridge Opening Arts Festival' series of activities has been planned from April 18 to May 9. Among these, the 'Starry Sky Concert' on May 2 and the 'Me and the Bridge Together' event on May 3 will invite the public to enjoy the bridge in the most relaxed way.

The Highway Bureau said the 'Crossing Tamsui Starry Sky Concert' will officially start on the Danjiang Bridge at 7:00 PM on May 2. It will be conducted by Jiang Jing-bo, a prize winner of the Solti International Conducting Competition, leading the Philharmonic Orchestra composed of top young domestic musicians, bringing several pieces centered on the theme of rivers.

The Highway Bureau pointed out that the Moving Sound Orchestra, which has been interviewed by the BBC and NPR and praised as one of the most original groups on the world music stage, has also been invited to perform. Hakka singer Hsieh Yu-wei will cooperate with the orchestra to sing about Hakka sentiments and the beautiful cultural scenery along Highway 61.

The finale of the concert will be performed by the choir from the local Xinxing Elementary School, singing 'Send the Love Out' as the most beautiful blessing for the opening of the Danjiang Bridge.

On May 3, the 'Me and the Bridge Together' event will feature 100 lounge chairs on the bridge, inviting the public to picnic together. There will be local market stalls, YOYO TV interactive singing for children, and performances by Huichuan Theater. Singer-songwriter PiA Wu Bei-ya will also perform a medley and original songs related to rivers.
