Taiwan Power Company's Taichung District Office stated that over 2,000 households were affected. After dispatching personnel for emergency repairs, power was fully restored by 2:28 PM.

Some netizens posted on social media, complaining that the sudden power outage made them feel like they were "dying of heat." Some people were in the food court of a hypermarket at the time and had to continue eating in the dark.

Taipower's Taichung District Office said that the power outage occurred around 1:18 PM in areas including Lizheng Road, Nantun Xinpu Road, Dadun 11th Street, and Wenxin Road Section 1. Upon receiving the report, personnel were immediately dispatched to the site for inspection and repair. The cause of the incident was a Taipower equipment malfunction.

Taipower stated that by 2:03 PM, the scope of the outage had been narrowed, and power was first restored to 2,044 households (including Carrefour Wenxin). Subsequently, additional personnel were dispatched for emergency repairs, and the faulty equipment was replaced around 2:28 PM, restoring power to all affected areas.

In addition, areas around Chungyo Department Store in Taichung's North District also experienced a sudden power outage yesterday at noon.
