To promote a healthy exercise culture, National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT/Taipei Tech) held a walking event at Daan Forest Park today, inviting teachers, students, and neighbors from multiple schools. Approximately 1,700 people participated in the 4.8km walk, which also featured health promotion booths to spread the concept of healthy living.

According to a press release from NTUT, the 'Walk in NTUT – Daan Forest Park Walking Event' gathered participants from the Taipei Unified University System, Taipei Vocational Alliance schools, and NTUT Affiliated Industrial High School. It also saw participation from alumni groups, community representatives, and the Daan District Health Service Center, showing broad support for physical activity.

NTUT President Ren Yi-jun stated that stepping outdoors and getting close to nature allows for mental and physical relaxation and adjustment during the walk. He expressed hope that students and staff would develop regular exercise habits, making health a common lifestyle for everyone at the university.

The event kicked off at 9:30 AM following a starting pistol shot by President Ren. The route began at the campus, headed down Xinsheng South Road to Daan Forest Park, and then returned, totaling about 4.8 kilometers. At the end of the activity, health promotion booths were set up in the Humanities Plaza in front of the library, covering topics such as regular exercise, preventing metabolic syndrome, and tobacco control. The event also integrated resources for student aid to provide diverse care for students while fostering a culture of health promotion.
